
The dynamic partnership of Christina Zubowicz and Suzanne Reinhard reflects the 20+ years of experience each has in the hospitality industry. Magnolia Events & Planning was started in 2004 by Christina Calhoun Zubowicz.
She started the company after training specifically for wedding planning under former Wedding Essentials’ coordinator Robin Kreitner. Christina plans andcoordinates weddings, mitzvahs, social occasions, and non-profit as well as corporate events. She is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and herclients have included national magazines, Fortune 500 companies, and brides from Atlanta and throughout the region. Her weddings have been featured in The Atlantan Bride and Brides Atlanta, as well as on the cover of Atlanta Jewish Times. She has also been featured on the Weddings Unveiled blog and in “Get Married.”
Christina earned her event stripes working for Bold American Catering and The Fifth Group Restaurants, serving in event management, marketing coordination and operations management for the organization. She participated in the management and planning for hundreds of weddings and corporate events and was recognized as a “Reason to Return” to Bold American Catering.
Christina also has eight years of restaurant management experience with legendary local Atlanta restaurants like Bridgetown Grill, Indigo Coastal Grill and the renowned Seeger’s, where she served on the team that earned the Mobil Five Star Award, the AAA Five Diamond Award, and the “Triple Crown” Award.
Christina has a BBA in Management with a concentration in Marketing from Georgia State University and a Master’s in Psychology from the State University of West Georgia. She is a student pilot at Aviation Atlanta where she has completed her first solo flight. She serves currently on the Board of Directors for The Frazer Center, which serves the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities, and its onsite event venue, Cator Woolford Gardens. She serves on numerous committees in addition to participating in many local charities year round.
Suzanne Joh Reinhard joined Magnolia Events in 2008, bringing an additional twenty years of experience in hospitality to the company. A native Atlantan, Suzanne attended Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in Charleston, S.C., where she built a solid foundation for a long and decorated career in the fine food, wine, and special events industries. Suzanne has developed and implemented distinctive events for many Four Diamond and Four Star restaurants including Magnolias (Charleston, South Carolina), Canoe (Atlanta), and several Fifth Group Restaurants. When The Food Studio (voted “Atlanta’s Most Romantic Restaurant”) opened in 1996, Suzanne was hired as general manager. She later brought her skills to the acclaimed partner restaurant of Food Studio, La Tavola. Suzanne received numerous industry and company awards while managing both locations. Over the years she has executed and designed corporate and social events with clients that include high-profile celebrities, Fortune 500 corporate giants, and the Southeast’s most celebrated leaders in politics, business, and community service. Her events have been featured in The Atlantan Bride, Season magazine, and Modern Bride.
Recognized for food and entertaining expertise and applauded for her ability to seamlessly create unique events, Suzanne was invited to join Magnolia Events’ growing enterprise as a partner in 2008. Her abilities complement those of Magnolia Events & Planning founder Christina Zubowicz and together they bring unparalleled service, experience and positivity to their work with brides, families and businesses. “Magnolia is known for building a positive team with our clients and vendors and executing our clients’ vision with sheer joy in a way that seems absolutely effortless,” Suzanne says. “I’m genuinely proud to be a partner in this dynamic company.”
Suzanne is married with three young children. In her free time she enjoys yoga and early morning workouts, while remaining dedicated to her church and several local community organizations. In 2009, her family was selected as the cover feature in Dunwoody Life magazine.
